Threat of Disinformation Maneuvered by Dishonest Abe

Toshihiko Shiobara

In this site, I call Shinzo Abe Dishonest Abe as the Economist did. First of all, I would like confirm that Dishonest Abe dispatched disinformation, by which means inaccurate information with an intention.

The disinformation was disseminated in the interpellation at the Budget Committee of the House of Representatives on 17 Feb. 2017. Let me introduce you remarks of Dishonest Abe.

“I know the fact that my wife becomes an honorary principal, and hear that teachers of Moritomo-Gakuen are zealous from her. In addition, I would like to confirm that my wife and I do not have any relations with this permission or sale of government property, my office as well. If those relations did exist, I would resign my post, the Prime Minister. I intend to mention this remark clearly.”

“If my wife and I would have had relations, I should retire from both the Prime Minister and a member of Parliament without fail. I would like to make a remark that I have no relations.”

These two remarks can be regarded as disinformation, because they are inaccurate information with an intention. First, Dishonest Abe made almost the same remarks two times. Second, it does not seem that Dishonest Abe made a slip of the tongue as a result of verbally giving tit for tat. Therefore, we can presume that Dishonest Abe referred to inaccurate information with an intention in the Parliament. Although Dishonest Abe did not know whether or not his wife, Akie had relations with the transaction, he intended to impress that he was innocent by total negation.

Nonetheless, we can judge that Akie had relations with the transactions. At least we can understand that the information that she was not related to it is inaccurate, comparing between falsified documents and not falsified documents. Because her names referred in the approved documents were all deleted in the falsified documents. It is natural that falsification was implemented in order to suppress the fact that Akie had relations with the transactions. Hence, we can call the remark of Dishonest Abe disinformation.

Dishonest Abe insists that his wife and he are not concerned with the transaction even on 13 March, 2018. His statement is also disinformation. Because he is dishonest and arrogant, he keeps repeating his remarks. Taking a position as a third party, it is hard to judge that Akie had no relations.

I hope that readers can understand why I keep the description of Dishonest Abe. Here, I would like to indicate a matter of vital importance that Dishonest Abe dissolved the House of Representatives in October, 2017, and he won. Supported by disinformation, the Diet election was carried out without vindication. Consequently, Dishonest Abe could keep his post by virtue of maneuvering, using disinformation.

Exactly speaking, Dishonest Abe is the person responsible for cheating all Japanese, utilizing disinformation.

Of course, in such a situation, democracy cannot function. Modern states can be established by an overriding principle that states are governed under the rule of law, enacted by the representatives elected democratically. Nonetheless, if bureaucrats do not abide by the laws, commit illegal acts, and disseminate disinformation, it is very difficult for us to penetrate into the inaccurate information. Let alone, in case of the disinformation issued by the Prime Minister we are hard to correct the information.

Resemblance between Putin and Dishonest Abe

Let me introduce a terrible narrative, which was shown in my book, the Neo-KGB Empire. In September, 1999, in several cities terrorist bombings occurred in Russia. On September the 22nd, a happening that bombing against the apartment was prevented in Ryazan occurred. The fact that the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB) was related to this occurrence was detected. As a result, a doubt that all bombings were arranged by the FSB had arisen. There is a possibility that the Prime Minister Vladimir Putin at that time utilized the bombings in order to strive for effect applause through taking a firm attitude against terrorists, making biased judgment that the Chechen terrorists were the culprits. At that time, Putin disseminated the disinformation that terrorist bombings were carried out by Chechen terrorists. Then, the popularity of Putin was increased, and resulted in inauguration of the President of the Russian Federation.

I do not intend to say that the same narrative had occurred in Japan. Nonetheless, I would like put emphasis on the possibility that a person like Putin will appear in Japan, if people do not stand facing disinformation and clarify the responsibility of disinformation. However, in Japan many people do not pay attention to disinformation.

In such a situation, Dishonest Abe can keep his power even now. But, foreigners should engrave the fact shown above on their heart and never forget it.
